Our Story
A note from Destiny Cafe's founder
My son Mark’s journey has profoundly shaped my life, inspiring my dedication to the non-neurotypical community. Early on, getting involved with Phoenix Academy and Sheltering Tree, I discovered valuable resources for Mark’s growth. However, it became evident that inclusive job opportunities for individuals at the top level of the disabilities scale were scarce. Fueled by this realization, the idea for Destiny Cafe was born. With a neurodiverse staff, holistic training programs, and impactful community outreach, we are crafting a nurturing space where the non-neurotypical community can flourish, both during their time with Destiny and beyond.
With love,
With love,
Mission
At the heart of our mission at Destiny Cafe is the training and employment of adults with developmental disabilities, creating pathways to better jobs in the community and enabling them to find purpose and fulfillment.
Vision
Destiny Cafe’s vision is to create a future where individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities are embraced by their communities.
Our Plan
Develop and implement a comprehensive Pilot Program with our partners to build a team and get the Cafe started.
Empower our community and partners to share our story, as we look to acquire a physical space in Omaha.
When our space is located and built out, open as a full-service cafe with a professionally trained, neurodiverse team.
Continue to deliver job skills training, programming, and resources for our team and the non-neurotypical community.
